Front line APC aspirant hoping to represent the people of Eleme/Tai/Oyigbo of Rivers state in the Federal House of Representatives, Prince Awalanta Mike Ejire received support from the people of Tai LGA of Rivers state Friday, August 30, 2018.
Awalanta who visited his royal majesty, King G.N.K Giniwa (CON), the gbenemene of Tai kingdom, who is also the chairman supreme council of Ogoni traditional rulers and former Chairman Of Rivers State council of Traditional rulers at his palace in Korokoro, Tai kingdom, as part of his constituency consultation for his 2019 ambition, was overwhelmed at the reception he got from the Tai people. The King who stressed that as a traditional ruler, he is forbidden to engage in active politics prayed for Awalanta and wished him success in his ambition.
Awalanta, who is also the prince of Eleme Kingdom, was later received by a crowd of supporters who chanted his name across the streets of Korokoro in Tai.
The leaders of the APC in Tai also assured Awalanta of their unalloyed support for his 2019 ambition.
The women leaders in Tai said Prince Awalanta’s ambition was the needed panacea for the long suffering of the people of Tai.
Responding to his supporters, Awalanta stressed that his ambition is not a ‘do or die” affair and urged his supporters to conduct themselves in accordance with the provisions of the law while campaigning for him.
He also openly declared his support for Mr Tonye Dele-Cole for governorship of Rivers state in 2019.
