Media personality and US trained investigative journalist, Kemi Olunloyo says she supports the Nigerian youths embarking on the #EndSARS protests against police brutality.
Kemi made her call via a video posted on her social media handles on Saturday.
“I have been supporting Nigerian youths from day one. This is why president Clinton honoured me in the White House.” She said in the video posted on her Instagram handle.
Nigerians have been protesting against police brutality and have demanded for the disbandment of a brutal police unit known as the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) for weeks now.
Kemi, who had earlier spoken against the ban of SARS, said in the video that she was misunderstood. She said she had suffered in the hands of the police and was traumatized.
“I was abducted for seven hours and taken to SARS office in Port Harcourt.” She said.
In a teary recount, Kemi mentioned how Pastor David Ibiyeomi of Salvation Ministries, through late Keniebi Okoko, ordered for her arrest in 2018.
Kemi spent months in the Port Harcourt maximum prisons for trump up charges that were later dropped.
She now suffers from Post Traumatic Stress (PSTD) due to the trauma she went through while in police custody.
Kemi ended her note with a call on president Buhari to resign.
