Burna Boy did not pay all patients medical bills – UPTH

Contrary to widespread reports, Burna Boy’s recent visit to the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH) did not result in the payment of all outstanding medical bills for patients. According to the hospital’s spokesperson, Elabha Meni, the musician only provided financial assistance to select patients during his visit on June 11.

While Burna Boy’s charitable act was appreciated, it was not a blanket coverage of all hospital bills, as earlier claimed by some news outlets. Meni revealed that the musician and his team made cash gifts or donations to a limited number of patients, with no direct payments made to the hospital on behalf of patients.

The clarification was issued on Friday to correct misinformation circulating online about the musician’s philanthropic efforts at UPTH. Despite this, the hospital acknowledges and appreciates Burna Boy’s kindness in helping those in need in society.

Burna Boy‘s gesture has once again demonstrated his commitment to using his platform for good, and his generosity has undoubtedly made a positive impact on the lives of those he helped. The hospital remains grateful for his contribution towards reducing healthcare costs for its patients.
