South African-based Nigerian businessman Charles Awuzie has stepped in to support Ufa Dania. The 25-year-old Miss Kwara contestant from the Miss Universe Nigeria 2024 pageant, who faced body-shaming during the competition.
Awuzie, the founder of Gemsbok Group and the convener of the Evolve Camp Conference, offered Dania a brand ambassadorship deal for Gemsbok Technologies in Nigeria.
As part of this role, Ufa Dania will represent Gemsbok I.T Academy, helping to boost her profile and career. Awuzie further expressed his commitment to working with Dania on building her brand beyond the pageant, hinting at more opportunities for her growth in the near future.
He also emphasized that both Dania and Chidinma, the winner of Miss Universe Nigeria 2024, will attend the Evolve Conference, predicting that Dania will become a household name in Africa.
In response to the ambassadorship offer, Miss Kwara expressed her gratitude, saying,
“I prayed, and I did not know this was how God would choose to answer my prayers.”
Dania made history as the first plus-size contestant in the Miss Universe Nigeria pageant. Despite struggling with anxiety prior to entering the contest, she bravely embraced the challenge.
Notably, she garnered significant support from South Africans on social media, who voted for her against other contestants, including Chidinma Adetshina, representative for Taraba State.
