Rapper Rick Ross is in hot trouble after being slapped with a lawsuit over alleged failure to make his Car & Bike Show wheelchair accessible.
The legal action was initiated by Darris Straughter, a disabled man who claims he was denied access to the event held at Ross’ estate in Fayetteville, Georgia, due to inadequate accommodations.
Straughter, who sustained a spinal cord injury in 2018, had requested accessibility arrangements in advance but asserts that his pleas were ignored. Despite promises of refunds for those unable to attend, he reports never receiving any compensation or follow-up. Represented by attorney John Hoover Esq., Straughter is pursuing legal action against Ross for breach of contract, unjust enrichment, and violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
The lawsuit demands financial damages and a court order to mandate proper accessibility measures at future events, aiming to ensure equal access for all attendees.
