The rising rate of confirmed new cases of covid-19 in Nigeria raises concerns from citizens and the leaders.

The nation witnessed a a high rate of 238 new cases on Friday, 204 on Thursday and 196 on Wednesday.

States like Kano and Lagos have also witnessed a rise in new cases with Lagos leading with 1006 new cases followed by Kano with 311 new cases.

This steady rise has instilled fear among citizens and their leaders alike.

The total number of confirmed cases in Nigeria now stands at 2170 with 351 discharges and 68 deaths.

many state are on partial lockdown while a few are on total lockdown to mitigate the spread of the virus. However, the federal government announced it will relax the lockdown order starting on the 4th of may, 2020 with restrictions to be between 8 pm to 6 am daily.

Some states have announced compulsory wearing of face masks and inter state lockdown is in enforcement.

Citizens took to microblogging platform Twitter to express their concerns in the rising figures.
