SOHCAHTOA Foundation Awards Scholarships to 100 Nigerian Students in Landmark Initiative
Lagos, Nigeria – In a significant step towards advancing education in Nigeria, the SOHCAHTOA Foundation has awarded scholarships to no fewer than 100 students from tertiary institutions across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones. The initiative attracted an impressive 18,000 applications for its inaugural edition, from which the recipients were carefully selected.
During the award ceremony held in Lagos on Saturday, Mrs. Solape Fayemi, co-founder of the foundation, highlighted the organization’s commitment to expanding its mission beyond mere empowerment. “This inaugural edition features 100 beneficiaries selected from over 18,000 applicants across the geopolitical spectrum. We are excited about the opportunities that lie ahead for the next academic year,” she stated.
Each chosen recipient will receive N250,000 annually to support their tuition fees until the completion of their respective academic programs. Mrs. Fayemi emphasized the foundation’s dedication to assisting young individuals in achieving their dreams and making meaningful contributions to society. “It is essential to recognize that the government cannot tackle these challenges alone. Private entities also have a role to play in positively influencing our communities. We must leverage our resources for the greater good,” she emphasized.
Furthermore, it was noted that to maintain their scholarship, beneficiaries are required to uphold strong academic performance by submitting their academic results at the end of each session.
