Lecturer’s longes Marathon lecture: Dr. Akpan Reaches 100-Hour Mark in Bid to Set New World Record
Osun State, Nigeria – In a remarkable feat of academic endurance, Dr. Nsikak Akpan, a lecturer at the Foreign Links College of Health Technology, Moro, Osun State, has reached the 100-hour mark in his bid to set a new world record for the longest marathon lecture.
Dr. Akpan’s extraordinary effort began on Monday, and he has been delivering lectures non-stop, with only brief 20-minute breaks in between each 4-hour session. The topic of his marathon lecture is “Relationships between man’s environment and health,” which he believes is crucial for understanding the complex interplay between human health and the environment.
As reported earlier, Dr. Akpan’s application to Guinness World Records was approved, with an Indian professor, Arvin Mishra, currently holding the record for the longest marathon lecture at 139 hours, 52 minutes, and 42 seconds, set in 2014. Dr. Akpan aims to surpass this record by continuing his lecture for a total of 150 hours.
During his lecture on Friday afternoon, Dr. Akpan spoke about the importance of mental health, highlighting how environmental and spiritual factors can significantly impact a person’s mental well-being. He emphasized that even seemingly minor changes in one’s environment can have a direct impact on their overall health.
Dr. Akpan’s remarkable feat has drawn attention from students and faculty members at the college, who are gathering to witness the historic event.
