Pastor Odumeje Recalls Past as Armed Robber at Age 14 Before Embracing Christianity
Pastor Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, widely recognized as Odumeje, the General Overseer of the Mountain of Holy Ghost Intervention Deliverance Ministry in Onitsha, has opened up about his tumultuous past. In a recently circulated video, Odumeje recounted how his upbringing in a perilous area of Onitsha, Anambra State, led him down the path of crime at a tender age of 14.
During his address to the congregation, he described his early life, stating, “I was born in Onitsha city, No. 3, Nnewi Street, and I grew up on a dangerous street. I became an armed robber at the age of 14. I became a terrorist until Jesus Christ intervened in my life, aided by my mother, who played a crucial role in my transformation. A destroyer was turned into a savior,” he shared.
Odumeje, known for his bold and often controversial remarks, recently garnered attention when he threatened to take matters into his own hands regarding his critics, asserting, “I don’t call the police for enemies.”
His distinctive preaching style, characterized by dramatic deliverance rituals and provocative statements, has established him as a notable and charismatic figure within Nigeria’s religious scene. Many followers and admirers affectionately refer to him as ‘The Lion Himself’ and ‘The Indaboski Bahose,’ titles he frequently uses to represent his persona.
