NBA Election 2024: Osigwe Emerges President-Elect

The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has announced the results of its 2024 election, with Afam Osigwe emerging as the new president-elect. The election, which was conducted online, saw Osigwe secure 20,435 votes, defeating his closest rival, Tobenna Erojikwe, who garnered 10,998 votes.

Osigwe is set to succeed outgoing President Yakubu Maikyau (SAN) and will lead the NBA’s efforts to promote the interest of lawyers and the legal profession in Nigeria.

In other notable positions, Sabastine Anyia emerged as the 1st Vice-President with 12,114 votes, while Bolatumi Animashaun won the 2nd Vice-President position with 26,534 votes. Zainab Garba took the 3rd Vice-President spot with 23,550 votes.

Mobolaji Ojibara was elected General Secretary with 25,713 votes, while Henry Ehi secured the Assistant General Secretary position with 28,552 votes. Blessing Udofa-Poromon won the Treasurer position with 17,998 votes, and Nyada Auta took the Welfare Secretary spot with 18,369 votes.

Bridget Edokwe emerged as Publicity Secretary with 19,542 votes, and Ebiere Ekpese won the Assistant Publicity Secretary position with 26,955 votes.

The election results were announced through the NBA’s official website, where live results were available for all positions.
