Osun Governor Adeleke Praises Teachers, Declares Work-Free Day to Reflect on Education Growth
Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has declared Monday, October 7, 2024, a work-free day for teachers in both public and private schools in the state to mark the 2024 World Teachers’ Day.
This announcement was made through a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi, in Osogbo on Sunday. The move is aimed at appreciating the vital role teachers play in advancing the state’s education sector.
Governor Adeleke extended his heartfelt congratulations to teachers globally and especially in Osun State, urging them to reflect on the past, present, and future of education in the state during the holiday.
“I, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, the Executive Governor of Osun State, heartily congratulate all teachers worldwide, particularly in Osun, on this annual celebration of World Teachers’ Day,” the governor said.
Adeleke reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting educators, stating,
“We will continue to do everything possible, both morally and officially, to ensure teachers in Osun feel valued and fulfilled in their vital role as educators.”
World Teachers’ Day is celebrated annually on October 5 to honor educators for their contributions to society.
