A shocking incident of armed robbery has left the nation in mourning as retired Brigadier General Harold Udokwere was brutally murdered in his home in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
According to sources, the attack occurred in the early hours of yesterday at Udokwere’s residence located on Sanga Street, Sunshine Homes by Kabusa Junction, Lokogoma Abuja. The robbers stormed the house around 3 am, demanding jewels, cash, and other valuables from the former military officer. Unfortunately, Udokwere was shot and later pronounced dead at the National Hospital Abuja.
The assailants also injured one of the neighborhood guards during the attack. The FCT Police Commissioner, CP Benneth Igweh, has launched a thorough investigation into the incident and has expressed his condolences to the bereaved family.
The police spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, confirmed that the attack resulted in the untimely death of Brigadier General Uwem Harold Udokwere on June 22, 2024. Adeh assured the family and the public that every effort will be made to apprehend and bring to justice those responsible for the heinous crime.
In a statement, Commissioner Igweh reiterated his commitment to amplifying the security landscape of Abuja by continually adapting strategies to combat evolving criminal activities. The police will provide updates on the matter as more information becomes available.
