Barrister Rotimi Alli, chairman of the Ibadan Football Council, has expressed optimism about the Super Eagles’ upcoming AFCON qualifiers against Benin Republic and Rwanda.
Speaking during the Ex-University of Ibadan Footballers Association’s virtual interactive session, “Guest of the Month,” Barrister Alli, also known as “Libero,” emphasized that the players’ determination would be the key to victory.
He pointed out that with limited preparation time, the coaches can only do so much, and the outcome would ultimately depend on the mindset of the players.
“It’s not about the coaches; it’s all about the boys,” he said.
He stressed the importance of team spirit and willpower, noting that the Super Eagles have the talent needed to succeed.
With a confident squad, Barrister Alli believes Nigeria’s national team can not only secure the six points needed from these matches but also qualify for both the Nations Cup and the World Cup.
The Super Eagles will face Benin Republic and Rwanda in critical matches this weekend, and Alli’s faith in the team’s potential reflects the high expectations placed on the players.
