President Tinubu Urges Federal Ministry Staff to Expedite Welfare Policies

President Bola Tinubu convened a meeting with federal permanent secretaries, emphasizing the need for expeditious action on policies affecting Nigerian citizens’ welfare and economic well-being.

He warned against ineffective bureaucracy causing delays in interventions and directed monthly briefings and quarterly interactive sessions to monitor progress.

President Tinubu urged civil servants to prioritize national development, emphasizing their role in shaping Nigeria’s trajectory and lifting millions out of poverty.

In a recent statement made public by the Special Adviser to President Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, HE Bola Tinubu called upon federal permanent secretaries to prioritize policies aimed at enhancing the welfare of Nigerians and driving economic growth.

Emphasizing the importance of urgency, diligence, and duty, President Tinubu underscored the need for swift action on matters impacting citizens’ lives.

Addressing concerns over bureaucratic inefficiencies hindering timely interventions, President Tinubu issued a stern warning, stating that such delays would not be tolerated.

He mandated monthly briefings and quarterly interactive meetings to monitor progress, ensuring alignment with the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

President Tinubu urged public servants to adopt a generational perspective, recognizing their pivotal role in shaping national history.

Stressing the significance of their actions on over 200 million citizens, he implored them to prioritize lifting Nigerians out of poverty and refraining from exacerbating their vulnerabilities.


Before President Tinubu’s address,Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, provided an overview of the service’s performance based on established Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), setting the stage for the President’s directives.

President Tinubu’s call for expedited action reflects the administration’s commitment to driving socio-economic progress and fostering a conducive environment for national development.
