Former Vice President and 2023 presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has expressed sympathy for President Bola Tinubu following an incident in which the President fell at Eagle Square during the Democracy Day celebrations.

In a message posted on his official X social media handle, Atiku conveyed his concern for Tinubu’s well-being. “I sincerely sympathise with President Bola Tinubu, @officialABAT, over this unfortunate incident as he was set to review the parade on Democracy Day. I do hope that all is well with him,” Atiku wrote.

The incident occurred as President Tinubu slipped while boarding the parade vehicle at Eagle Square. Security personnel and aides quickly assisted him, helping him regain his balance.

The fall has drawn varied reactions. Atiku’s Special Advisor on Broadcast Media, Abdul Rasheeth, interpreted the incident as a sign of divine displeasure, stating, “It’s a sign that God is angry with him.”

However, Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, downplayed the concerns, asserting that there are no health issues with the President.
