Fatal Accident in China, Shandong Province Raises Concerns as 11, Including Children, Lose Their Lives in School Bus Tragedy
In a devastating incident in Shandong province, China, a school bus lost control and ploughed into a crowd outside a school in Tai’an city, killing 11 people, including five students and six parents.
The accident left several others injured, with one person in critical condition. According to state media, the driver has been taken into custody, and authorities are investigating the cause of the crash. It remains unclear whether the crash was intentional.
Eyewitnesses reported that the bus struck the crowd as they were gathered outside the school gates. Disturbing images and videos circulating on social media show people trapped beneath the vehicle.
The tragedy comes just days after the start of the new academic year, adding to the grief and shock in the community. Deadly traffic accidents are tragically common in China. Just two months ago, a similar incident in Changsha resulted in eight fatalities and multiple injuries.
