Ekiti – A Magistrate court in Ekiti State has granted human rights lawyer, Dele Farotimi, ₦30 million bail. This development comes after Farotimi was taken into custody.
His arrest was prompted by a petition from Chief Afe Babalola (SAN), alleging that Farotimi published defamatory statements in his book, “Nigeria and its Criminal Justice System.”
The court case, with the suit number MAD/1,476.C/2024, involves the Ekiti State Commissioner of Police as the complainant and Farotimi as the defendant.
