Kaduna, Nigeria – A police officer in Kaduna State, identified as Hadaina Hussaini Dan-Taki, has sparked controversy after making a social media post threatening retaliatory attacks against southerners residing in northern Nigeria.
Dan-Taki’s comments came in response to the recent killing of 16 northerners in Uromi, Esan North East Local Government Area of Edo State. Expressing outrage over the incident, he took to Facebook on Tuesday, vowing that northerners would retaliate.
“I swear to Almighty God, we must do something for you guys. Have you forgotten all your brothers that are living here in the North? Mark my words, after one week you shall see the result,” Dan-Taki wrote in a now-restricted post.
Following backlash, the officer altered his first name and placed restrictions on his Facebook profile, limiting access to his posts and comments.

A social media user, identified as Uche with the handle #UcheDIgboezeson on X (formerly Twitter), shared a screenshot of Dan-Taki’s post and called the attention of Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi. Tagging Adejobi, Uche wrote, “#Princemoye1, take care of this sir.”
In response, Adejobi acknowledged the report and assured that necessary action would be taken, stating, “Noted for necessary action. Thanks.”
Meanwhile, the police have arrested 14 suspects linked to the Uromi attack, which occurred last Thursday. The victims, hunters from Kano State, were reportedly traveling back home for the Sallah celebrations when they were ambushed. Their vehicle was searched, firearms were discovered, and they were subsequently killed by a mob, prompting widespread condemnation.
