Israel Defense Forces (IDF) targets Hezbollah leadership, striking a critical blow to the terrorist group.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that a precision airstrike by the Israel Air Force, guided by intelligence, killed senior Hezbollah leader Ibrahim Aqil and 15 other top commanders of the Radwan Force during a meeting in Beirut’s Dahieh neighborhood on Friday evening.
Among those killed was Abu Hassan Samir, the former head of Hezbollah’s elite Radwan Force. Samir, a key figure in the group’s military strategy, was heavily involved in Hezbollah’s expansion in southern Lebanon and spearheaded the “Conquer the Galilee” attack plan. He had led numerous attacks on Israeli territory and was a major architect of the group’s ground combat capabilities.
Key Hezbollah Commanders Targeted
In addition to Samir, several other senior Radwan Force commanders were killed, including:
- Samer Abdul-Halim Halawi: Commander of the coastal area
- Abbas Sami Maslamani: Commander of the Qana area
- Abdullah Abbas Hajazi: Commander of the Ramim Ridge area
- Muhammed Ahmad Reda: Commander of the Al-Khiam area
- Hassan Hussein Madi: Commander of the Mount Dov area
These leaders had been involved in orchestrating attacks on Israel for years, furthering Hezbollah’s combat operations along the border.
Impact on Hezbollah’s Military Structure
In addition to field commanders, the strike also killed several senior figures within Hezbollah’s operational headquarters. Hassan Yussef Abad Alssatar, responsible for coordinating rocket fire operations, and Hussein Ahmad Dahraj, Chief of Staff of the Radwan Force, were both among the casualties. Dahraj played a key role in the transfer of weapons and bolstering Hezbollah’s military infrastructure.
The IDF’s strike is seen as a major blow to Hezbollah, disrupting its command structure and significantly impacting its operational capabilities.
