How Europe-Bound Nigerian man, Chikwado Eze Died After Being Buried Alive for Spiritual fortification in Enugu

Enugu, Nigeria – A young Nigerian man identified as Chikwado Eze has died after he was said to be buried alive for spiritual fortification by a juju priest in Ugbaike Enugu-Ezike, Igbo-eze North L.G.A of Enugu State, Nigeria.

Late Eze, who was said to have secured a visa to travel to Europe, had gone to the spiritualist, identified as Onuwa, for fortification following instructions from his father, Mr. Uwakwe Eze, a well-known tough figure in the community. The spiritual fortification was meant to make him successful while in Europe. The process took a different turn after Eze was found to be almost lifeless after being buried alive for ninety minutes.

A native of Ugbaike village, Mr. Eya, who confirmed the story to REPORT AFRIQUE said that late Eze was meant to travel last week abroad but died a day before his trip to Lagos.

” It is a sad event that happened in our community in Ugbaike. The young man, Chikwado Nwa-Eze, was buried alive by a spiritualist and died in the process. He was still breathing when he was unearthed but was confirmed dead in the hospital.” Eya told our reporter.

According to another villager, who also spoke to REPORT AFRIQUE on anonymity, the fortification process is common among young people in Ugbaike. They often engage in the fortification for financial wealth.

Eze’s ordeal has gone viral in the Nigerian online communities, attracting reactions from the public. A popular influencer, Charles Awuzie described Eze’s death as a “foolish death.”
