Lagos, Nigeria — A fire broke out on the Lagos Blue Line rail track in Apogbon, opposite the NEPA Station near Eko Bridge, Lagos State, at approximately 4:12 p.m. on Saturday.

Gboyega Akosile, spokesperson for Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, confirmed the incident in a statement on X (formerly Twitter), assuring the public that no casualties were reported and no train services were operational at the time of the fire.

Emergency response teams promptly arrived on-site, working swiftly to contain and fully extinguish the flames. Akosile stated that residents and commuters in the area could continue their activities without disruption as the situation had been brought under control.
