Nigerian footballer Kayode Olanrewaju has finally addressed the swirling rumours questioning the paternity of his three children with his estranged wife, Dora Ezinne.
The controversy has been making headlines, with allegations suggesting Kayode Olanrewaju is not the biological father of the children.
Kayode’s legal team, Alexime Law Associates, has taken decisive action to address the issue, slamming the rumours as baseless and harmful.
In a statement released on Monday in Lagos, the legal team emphasized the potential emotional distress and reputational harm resulting from these allegations.
The team traced the rumours back to a tweet by Dr Ruth Emosiluamhe Agbukor, who claimed that none of Kayode’s children with Dora was biologically his.
The tweet went viral, reaching millions, and was amplified by other social media platforms. Kayode’s legal team has demanded that Dr Agbukor reveal her source, delete the false story, and issue a public retraction, warning of potential legal action for libel and cybercrime charges if she fails to comply.
This controversy is part of ongoing conflicts between Kayode and Dora, which include allegations of forgery, theft, infidelity, and financial misconduct.
Kayode’s legal team claimed that Dora had absconded with their children to an undisclosed location in Abuja and attempted to flee the country using illegally obtained new passports. The Directorate of State Security Service (DSS) allegedly thwarted this plan in April.
Dora has also been accused of conspiring to misappropriate Kayode’s assets as part of a broader scheme to undermine him financially.
Olanrewaj’s attorneys emphasized that their client will not issue a public disclaimer about the DNA report, as this would imply his involvement in spreading the rumour. They are dedicated to uncovering the true sources of the allegations to support Kayode’s case and restore his reputation.
The legal team is working with intelligence operatives to uncover the source of the story, which they believe is part of a concerted effort to malign Kayode’s character and disrupt his family life, potentially orchestrated by Dora to divert attention from her alleged misconduct.
The team concluded, “We are committed to uncovering the source of this story as part of our broader strategy to shift focus away from the substantive issues of fraud and misconduct by Dora.”
