Abuja, Nigeria – black Toyota Hilux vehicle attached to the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), Nuhu Ribadu, was reportedly stolen during Juma’at prayers on Friday in Abuja, prompting a citywide search by security operatives.
The vehicle was said to have been parked at about 1:05 p.m. opposite the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) secretariat in Area 10, while an official of the ONSA attended prayers at a nearby mosque.
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, who shared details of the incident on his X (formerly Twitter) account, the ONSA staff member returned from the mosque to discover that the vehicle had vanished.
Sources revealed that the incident was promptly reported to the Garki Police Division around 2:00 p.m., prompting immediate action from officers in the area.
In response, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command launched a manhunt for the culprits, initiating stop-and-search operations at key checkpoints and sealing off several exit and entry routes across the capital.
The police have confirmed that investigations are underway and assured the public that all efforts are being made to locate the missing Hilux and bring the perpetrators to justice.
The Command further stated that surveillance has been intensified and intelligence gathering enhanced as part of the ongoing efforts to recover the stolen vehicle.
