Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has criticized the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for prioritizing minor cases against Bobrisky and Cubana Chief Priest while neglecting massive corruption affecting Nigerians.
Speaking on Arise News TV, Obi expressed frustration that the EFCC is using public funds to secure convictions for currency abuse while ignoring pressing issues like budget padding, undisclosed subsidy payments, and inflated contracts.
Obi emphasized that the agency should focus on tackling corruption that affects the lives of ordinary Nigerians, rather than targeting individuals like Bobrisky and Cubana Chief Priest.
He noted that if the EFCC continues to prioritize minor cases, people may be forced to dress like women to access basic needs like food.
The EFCC had recently secured a six-month conviction against Bobrisky for naira mutilation and granted Cubana Chief Priest bail for the same offence.
