The Lagos State Government has announced the introduction of an on-street parking scheme, set to commence in October.
The scheme will charge hourly fees for cars parked on designated streets, including those outside church and mosque premises.
According to a notice issued by the Lagos State Parking Authority (LASPA), vehicles parked on designated streets will be charged hourly, and indiscriminate parking will be enforced accordingly.
The notice, addressed to the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) branch chairman, emphasized the need for compliance from law-abiding organizations. However, the exact fee to be charged was not specified.
The scheme aims to regulate parking in the metropolis and generate revenue for the state government. Motorists are advised to be prepared for the new charges, which will take effect from October.
