In a remarkable series of events, a 39-year-old Norwegian national has managed to board two planes at Munich Airport without a ticket, evading security checks on consecutive days. The audacious stunts have left authorities stunned and airports reeling.
The first instance occurred on August 4, when the man sneaked past security at the second-busiest airport in Germany by standing close to another passenger and avoiding the automatic gate scanning process. He then successfully bypassed airline staff at the gate and boarded the plane, only to be discovered when it became clear he had no assigned seat. The authorities were notified, and he was subsequently handed over to police, who charged him but ultimately released him.
Undeterred by his initial failure, the Norwegian attempted to repeat the feat just a day later. He employed the same tactics, successfully boarding a flight to Sweden that was not fully booked. However, his plans were foiled once again when he attracted attention from airport staff in Stockholm as he tried to return to Munich immediately. This time, he was apprehended and handed over to police.
According to police spokesman Sebastian Pinta, the man did not pose any danger to passengers or crew members. He is currently under investigation for unlawful entry and transport fraud. Munich Airport officials have also launched an investigation into how the man was able to bypass security checks.
This remarkable case highlights the importance of airport security and the need for vigilant vigilance against would-be fraudsters.g
