Of the total visas, 43,000 will be allocated to the horticulture industry for roles like fruit picking, vegetable harvesting, and flower cultivation. Meanwhile, 2,000 visas will be designated for the poultry sector, assisting with processing tasks during the October to December period.
This annual visa allocation forms part of a larger government plan to secure labor for peak agricultural seasons, helping businesses meet heightened demand.
Eligibility Requirements for Seasonal Worker Visa Applicants
To qualify for a Seasonal Worker visa, applicants must meet specific requirements:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Obtain valid sponsorship from a licensed UK employer
- Fulfill job-related health and safety standards
In addition, applicants must show proof of sufficient funds for their stay and carry health insurance. Seasonal workers are required to leave the UK once their employment ends and are restricted from changing visa types during their stay.

The Seasonal Worker visa encompasses a range of roles within the horticulture and poultry sectors. Horticulture workers may engage in planting, pruning, weeding, harvesting, and packing. Poultry roles, on the other hand, focus on feeding, bird care, egg collection, and processing.
