Hisbah bans prostitution and gambling in kastina state

In a bid to promote morality and maintain order in Katsina State, the Katsina State Hisbah Board has issued a new set of rules that prohibits various activities deemed harmful to the society. The rules, signed by the Commandant of the Board, Sheikh Aminu Usman, aim to instill discipline and sanity among the people, especially the younger generation.

According to the new rules, prostitution, gambling, and any form of indecent dressing are strictly prohibited across the state. Additionally, Hisbah has banned the use of loud speakers by herbalists while advertising their products during prayer times in markets and towns.

The board has also issued guidelines for tricycle and okada riders, which include prohibitions on wearing knickers while riding, carrying more than one woman on an okada, and mixing men and women in one vehicle. Furthermore, tricycle riders are no longer allowed to wear three-quarter trousers while on duty, and they must refrain from reckless driving.

The rules also apply to okada riders, who are banned from carrying different genders on one motorbike. The board has warned that anyone found violating these rules will face stiff penalties.

The Hisbah Commandant has called on parents to be vigilant and monitor their children’s behavior, especially their daughters, to prevent them from engaging in any activities that may lead to misconduct. He emphasized that the new rules are aimed at promoting morality and discipline in the state.

The introduction of these rules is seen as a move by the Katsina State Government to restore sanity and discipline in the state. While some have welcomed the development, others have expressed concerns about the extent of the restrictions. Nevertheless, the Hisbah Board remains committed to enforcing these rules and ensuring that they are upheld across the state.
