A bombshell investigation by the Forensic Investigative Journalism (FIJ) has uncovered shocking revelations about the incarceration of Nigerian crossdresser, Bobrisky. According to the report, Bobrisky served only three weeks of his six-month sentence in prison before being mysteriously taken away to a secret location.

The investigation follows a recent audio leak in which Bobrisky allegedly claimed to have spent most of his sentence outside of prison and compromised operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) with N15m to drop the ‘money laundering’ charge against him.

FIJ’s report reveals that Bobrisky was indeed taken to Kirikiri prison in April after his sentence was pronounced, but he left after just three weeks. During his brief stay, he was treated like a VIP, receiving special treatment and living in a luxurious cell. Prison officials confirmed that money was involved in his departure and that he was “guarded like a president” until he was taken away.

The revelation is not surprising, given FIJ’s previous undercover investigation in 2019, which exposed the corrupt practices within the prison system. The investigation found that it was possible to pay money to live in well-furnished apartments inside prisons, bring in contraband items, and even strike one’s name off the prison records.

The prison official who spoke to FIJ also shared an intriguing incident involving Bobrisky’s use of a video call camera. The official revealed that one inmate was caught using the camera on Bobrisky without permission, prompting him to be locked up for nearly two months as punishment.

While it is unclear where Bobrisky was taken after leaving the prison, the investigation has raised questions about the legitimacy of his sentence and the extent of corruption within the Nigerian justice system. The scandal has sparked widespread outrage on social media, with many calling for greater accountability and transparency in the country’s law enforcement agencies.
