Controversial Social Media Figure VeryDarkMan Launches NGO with Significant Support
Social media personality VeryDarkMan has established a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) aimed at fostering community development and enhancing public education. The announcement was made via an Instagram post on Saturday, where he called on his followers for financial backing and promised a high level of transparency and accountability in the use of funds.
In his post, which tagged notable personalities including musician Davido and celebrity barman Cubana Chief Priest, VeryDarkMan stated, “For those who have asked for my account details to assist, today is that day. I will be completely transparent. I’ll publish the contributions received so everyone can see, and every penny will be accounted for. If you believe in this cause, your support is welcome—no amount is too small, even a contribution of 5 naira is significant.”
Following his appeal, VeryDarkMan reported that he received over N33 million in donations within just 24 hours. He shared a screenshot of the funds collected and expressed heartfelt gratitude to his supporters. The activist noted that many individuals contributed modest amounts, with a substantial portion of donations being N500 or less, reflecting a deep commitment despite financial challenges.
“Barely 24 hours after launching my NGO, you wouldn’t believe the amount in the account now. I want to send a shout-out to all those who have contributed. May God bless you,” he remarked. He highlighted that the overwhelming majority of the donations consisted of small sums like N72, N100, N22, N50, and N500, emphasizing that many of his supporters are facing financial constraints yet still want to make a difference.
In the weeks leading up to this initiative, VeryDarkMan has faced controversy, particularly involving popular crossdresser Bobrisky, related to allegations of bribery and corruption. Nonetheless, the rapid fundraising success suggests that his followers are eager to rally around his philanthropic efforts.
