Kazim Adeoti, the husband of Nollywood actress Mercy Aigbe, has finally addressed the controversy surrounding his absence from his first wife’s birthday celebration.
Adeoti, a prominent filmmaker and businessman, faced heavy criticism on social media after failing to attend the event and not sharing any public birthday message for his wife. In a statement released on his Instagram page, Adeoti clarified the reason behind his absence, emphasizing that his decision was in accordance with his wife’s wishes.
According to Adeoti, his first wife explicitly requested that he refrain from attending the birthday party and warned him against posting her pictures online. The businessman disclosed that he even sought confirmation from her in the presence of their children, but her stance remained unchanged. To avoid any potential embarrassment or discomfort, Adeoti explained that he honored her request by not attending.
Despite his absence, Adeoti revealed that he supported his wife financially and emotionally. He added that he sent her a private birthday message, which she graciously acknowledged.
