WAEC Announces 2024 Computer-Based WASSCE for Private Candidates
The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released details regarding the Computer-Based West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for Private Candidates, scheduled to take place from Friday, October 25, to Friday, December 20, 2024.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, WAEC confirmed that this examination would utilize a hybrid format. According to the announcement, candidates will complete multiple-choice or objective questions on-screen, while essay and practical sections will also be displayed digitally, requiring responses to be written in provided answer booklets. Additionally, an option for candidates preferring the traditional Paper and Pen mode throughout the entire examination will be available.
WAEC has also announced an extension of the registration period, which will now close on Tuesday, October 29, 2024. Moreover, candidates will have the opportunity to register as “Walk-in Candidates,” allowing them to sign up just 24 hours before their chosen examination paper.
The Council provided a reminder that the final timetable for the examination can be downloaded from the WAEC Nigeria website. They encouraged both prospective and registered candidates to utilize various learning resources available, including the WAEC e-Study platform, WAEC Past Questions and Answers books, and the WAECKonnect platform for interaction with fellow candidates.
