Lagos, Nigeria – One of Nigeria’s largest airlines, Air Peace, is set to raise its domestic airfares beginning November 1, 2024.

This information surfaced after an internal memo, meant for private partners, was leaked and circulated on social media.

A senior official from Air Peace, who chose to remain anonymous, confirmed the news as reported by Nairametrics. The source explained that while the memo was intended for internal distribution, it accidentally reached the public. “Our intention was for the memo to remain strictly within our network of private partners, but it unfortunately leaked. Indeed, the fare review will take effect from November 1, 2024,” the official stated.

According to the memo, the fare adjustments will apply to both business and economy class tickets. Business class fares under booking class “J” will see an increase from ₦250,000 to ₦400,000—a 60% hike. Meanwhile, class “C” will rise from ₦200,000 to ₦330,000, representing a 65% increase.

Economy class fares will also experience significant changes. The price for class “Y” will double, increasing from ₦150,100 to ₦300,000. Other economy fares will range from ₦120,000 to ₦210,000, depending on the booking class.

The memo emphasizes that existing fares will remain valid for flights booked on or before October 31, 2024. Also, all new tickets will now be fully refundable, and changed to bookings will incur bi fees. However, the no-show fee will increase from ₦10,000 to ₦15,000 to encourage better booking management.

The table below provides a breakdown of the fare changes:
