Uyo, Nigeria – Champion Breweries Plc has announced a revenue milestone of N21 billion for the 2024 financial year, marking a 64.5% increase from the previous year’s earnings. The company’s Managing Director, Dr. Inalegwu Adoga, made this known during a consumer appreciation event tagged “Drink & Win,” held at Bae Arena in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
Dr. Adoga said the company also saw a 121% surge in profit after tax, while shareholders’ equity improved by over N1 billion. He added that earnings per share grew significantly, moving from N5.10 to N9.00, reflecting the company’s robust financial performance.
The managing director attributed this growth to the company’s strategic focus and commitment to operational excellence, describing 2024 as a landmark year for Champion Breweries. He expressed pride in the brewery’s evolution into a formidable force in Nigeria’s beverage sector.
He further explained that the “Drink & Win” initiative is part of a broader strategy to deepen brand loyalty and engage more closely with consumers, particularly within Akwa Ibom, where Champion holds a dominant market position.
“Our dominance in Akwa Ibom is undeniable. Champion is proudly the official beverage of the state. The one-way can format we recently introduced has been a hit due to its convenience. Our consumers remain the heartbeat of our operations,” Dr. Adoga stated.
He noted that the company is not only focused on profitability but also sustainability. He disclosed that Champion Breweries will soon adopt solar energy in its production process as part of its eco-friendly drive to reduce its carbon footprint and support global environmental goals.
“Our transition to solar and green energy aligns with our commitment to sustainability. While it will help reduce production costs, our core objective is to decarbonise our operations and contribute to preserving the planet,” he said.
Also speaking at the event, Marketing and Brand Manager, Queen Nwabueze, reaffirmed the company’s pledge to offer premium beverages at accessible prices while celebrating Akwa Ibom’s indigenous culture.
“Why pay more for less?” she asked. “All our products are crafted to perfection, yet priced for everyone. Champion Breweries remains dedicated to satisfying our consumers while honouring the cultural heritage of Akwa Ibom.”
Nwabueze described the “Drink & Win” bar activation as one of several initiatives aimed at giving back to the community and rewarding loyal customers for their continued patronage. She revealed that the event would be replicated in other parts of the state to enhance customer engagement.
Winners at the event went home with a variety of prizes, including T-shirts, face caps, umbrellas, live chickens, bags of rice, cooking oil, tomato paste, and other exciting items from the raffle draws, as part of the brewery’s appreciation for consumer loyalty.
