Lagos, Nigeria – The United Bank for Africa (UBA) has announced plans to equip Micro, Small, and Medium-scale Enterprises (MSMEs) with wealth management and business continuity strategies at the final edition of its quarterly business series for 2024.
The event, themed “Profit with Purpose, Business Continuity,” will take place on Thursday at UBA’s headquarters in Lagos.
According to a statement issued by the pan-African bank, the UBA Business Series is a regular capacity-building initiative aimed at supporting small businesses. Through the program, experienced business leaders and industry professionals share critical insights and best practices for navigating challenging business environments.
This quarter’s edition will feature award-winning film director and producer Bolanle Austen-Peters as the keynote speaker. Joining her will be an esteemed panel of successful entrepreneurs, including the founder and Chief Executive of Asadtek Group Limited, Ghana, Dr. James Asare-Adjei; multimedia entrepreneur and TV personality Frank Edoho; media personality Toke Makinwa; and Princess Adeyinka Tekena, founder of Nigeria’s premium coffee brand, Happy Coffee.
Shamsideen Fashola, UBA’s Group Head of Retail and Digital Banking, highlighted the importance of the initiative. “We recognize that small businesses play a vital role in economic growth and development. At UBA, we are committed to equipping these business owners with the tools they need to thrive. This series will offer invaluable insights into personal finance, wealth management, and strategies for overcoming economic challenges,” he said.
He further emphasized that the event provides a platform for SMEs to learn from experienced entrepreneurs who have successfully built and sustained their businesses. “Hearing their stories and strategies will be invaluable for any business owner seeking to create a lasting enterprise,” Fashola added.
