Port Harcourt based multi-talented singer and producer, Otwenty Isaacz has dropped a new song, Cheetah that is making the airwaves in Africa and transcending to the world.
Cheetah, which hit the airwaves on December 16, has been the public favourite with the social media blowing up with videos of fans dancing to the song.
Cheetah’s acceptability amongst music lovers sets it out as one of the songs to look out for in 2024.
The song has now become a household song for youngsters, especially in the home base of the singer. One of his songs Puerto Rico got over 100,000 streams on its first week on Spotify. No Be Fake Love by Lilian Dinma featuring Otwenty enjoyed radio play in Lagos for months.
Born Oto Isaac Afangideh, he grew up in the city of Port Harcourt. He hails from an extended family of musicians. His late grandfather and traditional leader, Okuku Thomas U. Unene was a celebrated musician who had a traditional music band that was the group to reckon with in the Niger Delta in the 70’s.
Otwenty has been in the music industry for years but more as a producer. He has worked for many popular artistes but had remained silent in the background as is his personae of humility.
Despite his humble nature, a gold fish cannot be hidden for long in the sea, his latest release has had fans wanting more from the chocolate-skinned producer.
In 2020, Otwenty produced Diamond by Francine Belle, a UK based Nigerian artiste. The song went on to become a global success and enjoyed global airplays on popular music channels in the world, including HipTV an MTVbase.
In 2022, music mogul Soso Soberekon introduced Otwenty to afrobeat superstar Davido and a host of other popular Nigerian acts. He would go on to work with Soberekon for some months and meeting music acts like Tiwa Savage.
His latest banger Cheetah is now making the raves in Nigeria and across the world. A mix of afrobeat with a touch of dancehall, Cheetah is irresistible to the ears.
