Lagos, Nigeria – Veteran Nollywood actor Emmanuel France has died at the age of 80. The cause of death has not yet been revealed.
The news of his passing was confirmed by filmmaker and longtime colleague Femi Ogedengbe, who paid tribute to France in a heartfelt social media post.
Ogedengbe recalled their time working together on films such as Cross My Sin, She is My Sister, and The Director. He also shared memories of their travels to Tanzania in 2006.
Originally from Ghana, France was widely respected within the Nollywood community for his humility, kindness, and professionalism. Described as a true gentleman, he treated everyone with respect and earned admiration for his gracious demeanor.
One of France’s long-held aspirations was to produce a film titled Ghana Must Go, a project that remained close to his heart but, unfortunately, went unrealized.
France’s legacy in the film industry and the impact he had on those who worked with him will not be forgotten.
