Popular Nollywood actor, Pope Odonwodo, aka Junior Pope, is dead.

He was said to have died in a boat mishap while on set shooting a movie along the Anam river in Anambra State, on Wednesday, April 10.

His death was made public by filmmaker, Sam Olatunji, who noted that the actor died along with three others in the accident.

“Four actors including Jnr Pope fell into Anam River on their way to location and their bodies have been recovered. What a sad day for Nollywood. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. Multiple sources confirm this sad development to us.”

Video Showing Moments Actor Junior Pope Died from Boat Mishap Surfaces

Moments before Junior Pope’s death

A video has emerged online showing moments before the actor had a boat accident and died. In the video, Junior pope was seen making calls while in a speeding boat. He repeatedly told the boat driver to be careful.

“Na only me my mama born o. I get three children, na me go raide them. Take am small small” The actor was heard telling the boat driver in pidgin English in the video.

Moment later, the video showed where people carried what seemed like the actors corpse, supposedly after he drowned from the accident.

They were going to a movie location when the unfortunate incident happened. Several of his fans are in disbelief as the bubbling actor was still in his usual self a day before he died.

In 2021, Junior pope escaped death when his house went up in flames while he was asleep with his family.
