Controversial Singer Portable Breaks Down in Tears, Issues Emotional Apology for Assaulting Preacher
In a dramatic display of remorse, popular singer Portable has issued a tearful apology to the preacher he assaulted at his bar in Ogun state. The “Zazoo Zeh” crooner sparked widespread outrage on social media after he confronted and slapped a man who had come to preach at his establishment.
The preacher’s colleagues, including gospel artist Testimony Jaga, had given the singer a three-day ultimatum to apologize for his actions. On Wednesday, Portable appeared visibly emotional and on his knees, weeping profusely as he expressed deep regret for his behavior.
Jaga, who was present at Portable’s bar, joined in the apology, addressing pastors around the world. “I want to say this to all pastors around the world. I am your son. My brother here is your son. Whatever wrong he has done, we are sorry,” he said.
This marks the second time Portable has publicly apologized for the incident. In his initial apology, he stated that he would not have slapped the preacher if he had known he was a “true man of God.” The singer had initially claimed that he believed the man had come to his bar to cause him spiritual harm, which led to his aggressive reaction.
Portable’s apology comes amid growing criticism and backlash from the public and the Christian community. The incident has sparked a heated debate about the importance of respecting religious leaders and the need for forgiveness and reconciliation.
