The internet has been rocked by an unlikely event at the Oscars (94th Academy Awards) last night when actor Will Smith slapped comedian Chris Rock on live TV over a joke about his wife Pinkett.

Rock made a joke about Pinkett’s hair loss relating it to the movie G.I Jane. This got Will upset to the point of hitting Rock on live TV.

Pinkett Smith announced last year she shaved her head after struggling with alopecia. After Rock made his “G.I. Jane” joke, Jada was seen not laughing and rolling her eyes.

Celebrities like Denzel Washington consoled Will after the incident. Rock was a bit startled after the slap but managed to hold up and say it was the “greatest moment in television history” and getting an applause from the audience.

Smith gave an emotional speech afterwards while receiving an award as best actor for his movie “Richard King.” The actor said, “I want to apologize to the Academy. I want to apologize to all my fellow nominees. This is a beautiful moment and I’m not crying for winning an award. It’s not about winning an award for me. It’s about being able to shine a light on all of the people.”

Chris Rock Won’t File Charges against Will Smith

The Los Angeles Police Department confirms to Variety that Chris Rock has “declined to file a police report” following an altercation with Will Smith at the 94th Academy Awards. Smith took to the stage during the 2022 Oscars and slapped Rock after the comedian made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith.
