Lagos, Nigeria – Chief Munir Balogun, father of Afrobeats superstar Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has finally spoken out about the long-standing feud between his son and fellow artist, Davido.
In an exclusive interview with Punch Newspapers, Chief Balogun revealed that he has consistently advised his son to ignore provocations and focus on his career. He urged Wizkid not to be distracted by comments from Davido’s fan base, which he believes are often aimed at creating unnecessary tension between the two music stars.
“I told my son that he shouldn’t look or listen to whatever the boys who are supporters of Davido are saying. The supporters are only looking for what they will say to collect money and all of that,” Chief Balogun stated.
He explained that fans frequently seek to stir up controversy for personal gain and attention, adding that it is important for Wizkid to rise above the noise and maintain his focus.
“They are just looking for what they are going to eat, and I told him not to pay much attention to them,” he added.
Chief Balogun noted that he has observed the rivalry playing out on social media platforms, where it has become a frequent subject of debate among fans of both musicians.
