13-Year-Old Commits Suicide After False Accusation and Brutalization by Soldier and Civilian JTF

A heartbreaking incident has occurred in the Ungwan Maigero Community of Chikun Local Government Area, Kaduna State, where a 13-year-old boy, Wisdom Hashimu, took his own life after being falsely accused of stealing and brutally beaten by a soldier and members of the civilian Joint Task Force (JTF).

According to reports, Wisdom was accused of stealing N10,000 from a neighbor, Hope Danladi, which led to his brutalization by the soldier and civilian JTF on June 1, 2024. Despite his innocence, Wisdom was severely beaten, leading to his hospitalization.

Tragically, Wisdom’s lifeless body was found hanging on a noose at the back of his family’s compound on June 6, 2024, when his parents were not around.

The grieving parents are demanding justice for their son’s death, calling for those responsible to be held accountable.

The Kaduna State Police Command has commenced a full investigation into the incident, promising to ensure that justice is served and those behind Wisdom’s death are prosecuted accordingly.
