Andrew Amechi Ocheckwo, Suspect in The Case of Missing Girls, is Wanted in the UK for Sex Offences

A British-Nigerian man, Andrew Amechi Ocheckwo, the prime suspect in the case of the two missing girls, Celine Ndudim and Afiba Tandoh, who went missing after visiting him in Aba, Nigeria in April, 2024 is also a wanted felon in the United Kingdom.

Ucheckwo, also known as Andrew Ochekwo and sometimes, David Okorocha, was on the run from British authorities when he landed in Nigeria in 2019, after he was declared wanted in connection with the sexual assault of a woman at an address in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, England, in June of that year.

He later settled in Nigeria away from the British authorities and continued in a series of sexual abuses in Aba, Abia state where he resided until the case of the missing girl blew his cover leading to his arrest in May, 2024.

A message on the Milton Keynes community hub website, quotes the investigating officer of his case in the UK, Detective Constable Rob Buchanan, based at Milton Keynes police station, said: “Enquiries have been ongoing to locate Andrew Ucheckwo but we are now appealing for the public’s help.

“If you see him, do not approach him and call 999, or if you know where he is or may have seen him previously please call 101 or make a report on our website, quoting reference number 43190173124.

“Alternatively, you can provide information anonymously to the independent charity, Crimestoppers, by calling 0800 555 111 or via its website.”

In another publication, police in the UK warn that Andrew Amechi Ocheckwo was dangerous and should not be approached by members of the public.

Ucheckwo was 51 when he committed the crime in Milton Keynes and was described as being 5ft7in tall and heavily built. He was also said to have a small scar to his left eyebrow, according to information provided by the Thames Valley Police.

A decomposing body suspected to be that of one of the missing girls in Aba was found on June 3 by a team of tactical policemen investigation the case.

Sadly, Andrew was said to have been shot and killed by some vigilante men in Benue state, Nigeria in an attempted escape while in transit from Aba to Abuja, accompanied by Nigeria policemen, for further investigations on the matter. His death is still shrouded in controversy and the girls remain missing till date.
