“You, Bello Turji, if you know you are man enough and believe you are truly the son of your mother, come out and let’s face each other,” they declared.
In a shocking video message, three Nigerian soldiers have called out Bello Turji Kachalla, a notorious bandit leader responsible for numerous devastating attacks across northern Nigeria. The soldiers, frustrated with the lack of directives from higher authorities to pursue Turji, have taken matters into their own hands and issued a bold invitation to the bandit leader.
The soldiers, who have previously demonstrated their bravery by eliminating Boko Haram in Maiduguri, Borno State, urged Turji to emerge from his hiding place and confront them directly. “You, Bello Turji, if you know you are man enough and believe you are truly the son of your mother, come out and let’s face each other,” they declared.
The soldiers condemned Turji’s actions, stating that he has been “kidnapping and killing innocent civilians” and urged him to stop. “Please for Allah’s sake, stop kidnapping and killing civilians; they are innocent,” they said.
The video message also highlighted the soldiers’ past successes, recalling their elimination of Boko Haram in Maiduguri. “Before now, we didn’t know what a soldier or a gun was and we eliminated Boko Haram in Maiduguri, Borno State let alone now that we are soldiers and know what a gun is,” they said.
The soldiers emphasized their resolve, stating that they are ready to face Turji directly. “You have a gun and we (soldiers) have guns too, come out from your hideout and let us face each other,” they challenged. “You are not man enough if you are kidnapping and killing innocent civilians, leave them and come out and face us (soldiers).”
The bold challenge has sparked widespread attention and has raised questions about the effectiveness of the Nigerian military’s efforts to combat banditry in the region. As the situation unfolds, it remains to be seen whether Turji will accept the soldiers’ challenge and emerge from his hiding place.
