Bauchi State Governor Appoints Former Commissioners as Special Advisers Following Cabinet Reshuffle
Less than two days after dismissing them from their roles as commissioners, Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has appointed three former commissioners as special advisers. This decision was publicly announced in a statement released on Tuesday by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado.
The statement indicated that these appointments reflect the governor’s dedication to promoting effective leadership, inclusivity, and achieving the developmental objectives of his administration. The newly appointed advisers include Abdulhameed Bununu, previously the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, who will now serve as the Special Adviser on Multilateral Coordination and Regional Integration; Usman Danturaki, the former Commissioner for Information and Communication, appointed as the Special Adviser on Labour Matters and Contributory Pension Scheme; and Madugu Yalams, the erstwhile Commissioner for Agriculture, who will take on the role of Special Adviser on Technical and Vocational Education.
Governor Mohammed urged the appointees to leverage their extensive experience and commitment to make meaningful contributions towards realizing his vision for Bauchi State. He called for a diligent, transparent approach to their responsibilities, emphasizing the importance of improving the quality of life for residents of the state.
The governor’s cabinet reshuffle, announced earlier on the same day, involved the dismissal of five commissioners, which he described as a necessary measure to reinvigorate governance and enhance service delivery for the people of Bauchi State. Governor Mohammed reiterated his administration’s commitment to upholding principles of good governance, accountability, and inclusive development for all citizens.
