Nigerian Crossdresser Bobrisky Files ₦1 Billion Defamation Lawsuit Against VeryDarkMan
Bobrisky, a popular Nigerian crossdresser and social media personality, has taken legal action against Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, for allegedly defaming him in an audio clip. The lawsuit, announced on Sunday, claims that VeryDarkMan released an AI-generated audio recording that falsely implicated Bobrisky in illicit relationships with high-profile figures, including politicians and law enforcement officials.
According to the legal statement, VeryDarkMan used Bobrisky’s name and influence for personal gain, making unsubstantiated claims about his relationships with politicians and law enforcement officials. The lawsuit accuses VeryDarkMan of releasing defamatory statements without concern for Bobrisky’s mental health, privacy, or constitutional rights.
The statement further alleges that VeryDarkMan has persistently made reckless and unfounded statements about Bobrisky, disregarding his mental health, general wellbeing, and constitutional rights. It is alleged that the defamatory content has caused immense damage to Bobrisky’s reputation and has led to several damaging reviews of his persona and brand.
The lawsuit demands that VeryDarkMan deletes the audio clip immediately, issues a public apology in two national newspapers, and records a video apology to be shared across all social media platforms. It also demands that VeryDarkMan cease publishing defamatory content about Bobrisky and pays ₦1 billion in damages within 24 hours.
The lawyers warned that failure to meet these demands would result in legal action being pursued in court. They urged VeryDarkMan to take advantage of the alternative dispute resolution mechanism introduced in the demand notice and resolve the matter within the next 24 hours.
In related news, Bobrisky had previously alleged that some unnamed Economic and Financial Crimes Commission operatives collected ₦15 million from him to drop money laundering charges against him.
