Nigeria recorded 204 new cases of coronavirus Thursday, according to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
The NCDC made this known via a tweet on its official Twitter handle Thursday night.
Among the 204 new cases, Kano had 80 new cases, Lagos had 42, Gombe had 12, Bauchi and Sokoto had 9 cases each. Borno and Edo had 7 new cases, Rivers and Ogun had 6, the FCT,Akwa Ibom and Bayelsa had 4 new cases each, Kaduna had 3, Oyo, Delta and Nasarawa had 2 new cases each while Ondo and Kebbi states had 1 new case each.
Nigeria now has a total of 1932 confirmed cases of coronavirus, 319 recoveries and 58 deaths.
There are a total of 3,303,304 globally confirmed cases, 1,038,440 recoveries and 233,785 deaths.
The US is currently testing an antiviral drug called remdivisir for the treatment of coronavirus.
US president, Donald Trump said he has directed the FDA to fast-track the approval of remdivisir for treatment of people infected with the virus.
