LASEPA Seals Cubana Chiefpriest’s Fast Food Over Noise Pollution and Environmental Infractions
The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has taken a bold step in addressing environmental concerns in the state by sealing off Donald’s Fast Food, a popular restaurant located on Adebayo Doherty Street, Lekki 1. The restaurant, owned by Pascal Chibuike Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chiefpriest, was shut down after repeated failures to comply with environmental regulations.
According to LASEPA, the restaurant was issued several warnings and abatement notices prior to the closure due to persistent noise pollution and other environmental infractions. The agency’s decision to seal the premises was announced by Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, on Sunday through his social media handle.
Wahab stated that LASEPA took the drastic measure to protect the health and wellbeing of residents in the surrounding area, who had been affected by the noise pollution and environmental degradation caused by the restaurant’s activities. The closure is a clear indication that the Lagos State Government will not tolerate any form of environmental recklessness and is committed to ensuring a clean and healthy environment for its citizens.
It is expected that Cubana Chiefpriest’s Fast Food will take immediate steps to address the issues raised by LASEPA and take necessary measures to ensure compliance with environmental regulations before being allowed to reopen. The agency’s action serves as a warning to other businesses and individuals in the state who may be flouting environmental regulations.
