Nigerian singer and rapper Falz took to the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to express his outrage over President Tinubu’s lack of response as nationwide protests against bad governance continue to escalate. Falz questioned the president’s silence amidst the growing demonstrations by citizens demanding accountability and reform.
In his social media post, Falz condemned the president for seemingly ignoring the widespread unrest and criticized the administration for dismissing the protests as merely “politically motivated.” He expressed deep frustration over what he perceives as a troubling lack of empathy from the leadership, questioning how long the administration intends to brush aside the people’s legitimate concerns before the situation potentially explodes into further chaos. He’s tweet read:
“Genuinely don’t know why it’s so difficult to be humane. They say make you leave am, you no gree. Say na your birthright. You can’t now turn a deaf ear. You tried to make it look like the protests were ‘politically motivated’. Shebi una don see now? How long do you think you can keep on pushing the people back before it blows up in your face?”
The protests, which have gained momentum in recent days, are driven by widespread frustration over economic hardships. As the situation develops, many are closely watching how the government will address the issue and whether there will be any significant changes in response to the demand of the citizens.
