Father Arrested for Chaining Six-Year-Old Son in Bauchi

In a shocking incident, a 30-year-old father, Mamuda Abubakar, has been taken into custody by the Bauchi police command for allegedly chaining his six-year-old son, Adamu, in their home. The unusual punishment was reportedly meted out to prevent the minor from visiting his maternal grandfather’s house.

According to sources, the suspect and Adamu’s mother had parted ways five years ago and she had since remarried, leaving her son with the father. However, the mother’s new husband was not happy about Adamu’s frequent visits to his grandfather’s house, which led to the suspect’s decision to chain his son.

The police received a report of child abuse on Sunday and promptly dispatched a team of detectives to rescue the child. Upon investigation, it was discovered that the father had confined his son in a room, sparking outrage and prompting swift action by the authorities.

Meanwhile, another suspect, Adamu Alhassan, has also been arrested in connection with the murder of a 60-year-old woman in Toro Local Government Area. According to reports, Alhassan broke into Safiya Yunusa’s residence at around 1am on July 7 and attacked her with a dangerous weapon. The victim was rushed to Toro General Hospital where she was pronounced dead by a doctor.

The police investigation revealed that Alhassan acted alone and was apprehended with the assistance of vigilante groups. The motive behind the heinous crime is still unclear as investigations are ongoing.

Both suspects are currently under investigation at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Bauchi.
